A Feeding Story

Feeding your baby.

It feels like that’s the hottest topic on everyone’s agenda after you give birth.
And the more women I speak to, the more I learn about the uniqueness of each individual feeding story.

Edith, the little firecracker in the photos below, was born with a condition called Congenital diaphragmatic Hernia. It means that Edith couldn’t feed through her mouth and had to have a feeding button placed in her abdomen, through which she is still feeding today.

This strong, beautiful, fierce, fun loving girl, weighed 2kg at birth, spent 94 days at NICU and was only given 5% chance of survival due to her condition. After her little brother was born and breastfed like a champ, the mum Tahlia, was looking for a way to capture their family’s unique feeding journey.

We decided to have a family session out in nature and incorporate Edith’s feeding equipment and special teddy.
It was a way to celebrate how far they’ve come. A keepsake to remind their future selves about this time in their lives.
