What to expect
from a session
with me

Whether you’d like to have your session out on location or in the comfort of your own home - the process leading up to our session day is the same.

But first, before looking at pricing or wondering which location speaks to your soul, I ask that you get to know me a little.

Have a look at my About page, see why I do what I do and ask yourself “do I feel a connection to this person?”. We will be chatting a bit before your session and then spend over an hour together capturing your family’s love story.

So it’s important for me that you feel you can trust me to do what I do best and that we can spend that time creating happy memories for you and the other humans you share your life with.

Once you’ve done that, check out my portfolio and my Instagram. My style is not for everyone and that’s totally ok. If you’re hoping for bright and airy photos or traditional portraits of everyone standing and looking towards the camera - I’m probably not the right photographer for you.

Find someone you would love to hang out with, get weird with, share a precious part of your life with. If that’s me - well, I’m fucking honoured and I’d love to hear from you.

“And just like that, my body was again no longer mine. But it was different this time. My belly was soft and empty and we were no longer cohabitating. But my flesh was still your home, your safety, your sustenance. So I surrendered, once again, to a new and different role. Mother.” -Annika Hein

WHERE TO START?
SOME STEPS TO CONSIDER

What I stand for

Raw Feelings

Life isn’t perfect and your photos are here to reflect your truth. Your child might cry. They might run wild. The session might make you feel all the emotions. It’s part of your story.

Authenticity

Be who you are - not who you think is trending on Instagram. We’ll get to know each other before and during the session, bring your truth and I’ll bring mine.

Fun

The best sessions are the ones where you almost forget I’m there. It’s almost rare now a days to allocate time to just be. Without distractions, without pressure - use this time to connect and have fun as a family (whatever shape or size your family might be)

Keep your children wild - don’t make them grow up too fast. Let them spend their days in the sunshine using their imagination. They are the change! Those wild children daydreaming in the sunshine will grow into grounded adults with minds and spirits capable of creating a better future.
— Brooke Hampton.

FAQ

  • How do I book a session?

Best way is to head to the contact me section of my website and fill up your info so I can get back to you with my availability and details.
Once we find the right time for you, a 20% deposit is required to secure your spot, with the rest due the week of our session.

  • What should I wear for our session?

Once you book your session I’ll send you my client guide which includes wardrobe advice and colour scheme ideas. I always enjoy talking wardrobe so feel free to hit me up via text to go over your selections.

Although not the most important part of your session, my personal opinion is that your clothes contribute to the overall look and feel and should be a considerable part of your preparation for your session.

  • How do I get my photos?

Once your photos are edited and ready to be shared with the world (or just your fam and friends), you will receive an email with a link to your secure Online gallery, where you’ll be able to view and download your photos.

You will receive your photos in a digital jpeg format, in both Print quality and Web quality for your socials. I do not deliver RAW files as they are not the whole and completed product. I have spent my years as a photographer, developing my own style of editing and it is an integral part of the complete product.

  • How long in advance shall I book?

If you are after a weekend session, I recommend getting in touch as soon as possible as those are the busiest days for me. Maternity sessions are best done between 32-36 weeks and Newborn sessions between 1-14 days. Having said that, I pride my self on being flexible and accomodating the changing dates around the birth

  • What do we do in case of rain?

Melbourne can be so unpredictable. I monitor the weather forecast closely and will be in touch the day before our session to confirm we can go ahead as planned.
Generally, a little bit of rain shouldn’t stop us from going ahead (on the contrary, kids jumping in puddles make for great photos ) but should you like to reschedule we can move your session time to the closest available date or alternatively move it in-doors for an in-home session .

  • I really like your vibe, will you shoot my wedding?

Although little intimate family moments are where I thrive, I also offer wedding and branding packages. Get in touch to discuss the right package for you.
